Dear Mr. Blakeslee, and Mr. and Ms. Robarchek,
The UCSB team is very grateful to both the Robarcheks for taking the time to review our report and comment extensively on the section which summarizes their work, and to Mr. Blakeslee for fowarding their response to this list. We encourge everyone with comments and corrections to please notify us.
We have modified our report in response to the Robarcheks' comments. Our intent was not to engage the theoretical issues involved, but merely to demonstrate that Tierney omits key facts which are critical to fairly evaluating the claims. We believe the Robarcheks' work is a sterling example of honest scholarship, and we hope we have fairly represented it in our revision, given our very limited aims.
