My students often ask me to write letters of recommendation for their applications for financial aid, scholarships, study abroad programs, and graduate school. To write the strongest possible letters of recommendation, I require the following information:
Financial Aid Letters of Recommendation
- Overall grade point average.
- Anthropology grade point average.
- My courses that the student has taken with grade they earned.
- Address where letter should be sent.
- Above information must be received at least one week before due date.
Scholarship Letters of Recommendation
- Overall grade point average.
- Anthropology grade point average.
- My courses that the student has taken with grade they earned.
- List of scholarship requirements and the student meets them.
- Summary of how the student is uniquely qualified for the scholarship as demonstrated by their work in my courses.
- Address where letter should be sent.
- Above information must be received at least one week before due date.
Study Abroad Letters of Recommendation
- Overall grade point average.
- Anthropology grade point average.
- My courses that the student has taken with grade they earned.
- Summary of how the student is uniquely qualified for the study abroad program as demonstrated by their work in my courses.
- Summary of how the study abroad program will enhance the student’s anthropology program of study.
- Address where letter should be sent.
- Above information must be received at least one week before due date.
Graduate School Letters of Recommendation
- Overall grade point average.
- Anthropology grade point average.
- My courses that the student has taken with grade they earned.
- Summary of how the student is uniquely qualified for the graduate program as demonstrated by their work in my courses.
- Copy of the student’s letter of intent.
- Copy of the student’s curriculum vitae.
- Address where letter should be sent.
- Above information must be received at least two weeks before due date.
Work Letters of Recommendation
- Overall grade point average.
- Anthropology grade point average.
- My courses that the student has taken with grade they earned.
- Summary of how the student is uniquely qualified for the position as demonstrated by their work in my courses.
- Copy of the job advertisement.
- Copy of the student’s resume.
- Address where letter should be sent.
- Above information must be received at least two weeks before due date.
